Condolence From: Marie Reynolds
Condolence: I am forever grateful to Bruce for saving my life many years ago. He was working a fully-involved house fire in Browns Mills. As editor of The Community News, I showed up to cover the fire and viewed the entire scene through my camera lens. Like an idiot, I kept moving closer, looking for the most dramatic shot. Suddenly through the lens, I spotted a firefighter across the yard with a look of sheer terror on his face. He screamed for me to stop. I hesitated and he moved slowly towards me with his hands outstretched. When he got close enough for me to hear him, he told me to look down and back away. The next step I would have taken was onto a live power line that had fallen away from the house onto the ground. How he even noticed me with such an active fire underway was a lesson to me about his extreme skill and dedication as a firefighter.I remain eternally grateful and send my deepest sympathies to his family and fellow firefighters.
