Bruce A. Berry of Myrtle Beach, SC formerly of Eastampton, NJ passed away January
26, 2017 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was 70. Bruce was
born in Lockport, NY. He served his country in the US Airforce for 4 years and settled in
Browns Mills. He served in the Air Force reserves for 14 years and later retired from the
Department of Corrections after 15 years. Bruce was very active at various volunteer
fire departments in his community both in NY and NJ for over 25 years; he served as
Firefighter and Assistant Fire Chief for Presidential Lakes, Firefighter, President,
Trustee, Fire Police, Safety Officer and Life Member for Browns Mills. He was also a
member of the Pemberton Lodge #199 F&AM Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Marlene Berry (nee-Pearlman); three daughters:
Karen Crafchun (Paul) of Medford NJ, Tracy Young of Parsons Tenn, Tammy Aldridge
(Pete) of Parsons Tenn; eight grandchildren: one great grandchild; and his nephew
Keith Pearlman (Denise) of Browns Mills NJ.
A memorial Service will be held on Friday February 24, 2017 at 11am at the Pemberton
Township Volunteer Fire Department (Formerly Country Lakes Fire Department), 103
Firehouse Road, Browns Mills, NJ. Friends may visit with the family Friday morning from
9-11 am at the firehouse. Interment will be at a later date in the Brigadier General
William C. Doyle’s Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bruce’s memory to the Pemberton
Township Fire Department, 15 Trenton Road Browns Mills NJ 08015. Email
