Athanasios "Tom" Savaidis of Lumberton passed away Monday July 18, 2016 at Virtua Hospital in the Hospice Unit. He was 74. Tom was born in Athens, Greece and had been a resident of Lumberton for many years. He worked as a tool maker machinist with United Arrow Products in Burlington for several years. In his later years, he managed various diners throughout the area. You could often find Tom at the horse track, he loved the horses; but his biggest love was his wife Gloria.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Gloria Savaidis Aboziad in August 2015 and both his parents John and Maria Savaidis. Tom is survived by three brothers George Savaidis (Nory) of NJ, Mario Savaidis (Kay) of Iowa, and Demitrius Savaidis (Lena) of Greece. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Catherine Stemmer Deleo and Doris Stemmer; his special niece Connie Roper, along with several other nieces and nephews here in the States and in Greece.
Graveside Services and Interment will be on Saturday July 23rd at 11AM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Marne Highway, Hainesport. Email condolences to the family at leefuneralservice.com. Arrangements were made with Ed Kaelin III at the LEE FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Holly.
